The Greater Gulf State Fair is coming back to the Mobile Fairgrounds from October 28 until November 6!
The second half of the Fall semester can feel dreadful with daunting due dates and final exams approaching. Sometimes it seems like the holiday breaks can’t get here fast enough, and weeks pass either really fast or really slow. Luckily, there are plenty of festive events to look forward to, including pumpkin patches, Halloween costume contests, and regional fairs.

Like any county fair, you can expect to see a plethora of exciting rides, delicious food to satisfy any craving, lots of animals and livestock, and impressive art and craft exhibits. In addition, there are circus acts, hypnosis demonstrations, and educational skits for children.
The Greater Gulf State Fair also boasts The Grandstand, which is a huge stage for artists to put on live performances. This year, Mobile is welcoming Sister Hazel, Micah Tyler, and Elle King to The Grandstand.
Another exciting event to anticipate is the Rodeo, which will be taking place on Saturday, November 5 at 6:00pm and Sunday, November 6 at 2:00pm.
Here are the hours of operation for the Greater Gulf State Fair:
Admission to the fair and access to rides are sold separately. However, all concerts and rodeo are included in fair admission.
Advance Ticket Prices
- Adult Admission (ages 11+): $8
- Child Admission (ages 5-10) : $4
- Wristbands for Unlimited Rides: $25
- Midway Access Pass (a.k.a. “Fast Pass” or “Skip-the-Line”): $10
There are also Discount Days to consider to get the most out of your money. There are $5 Fridays where admission will be $5 from 4pm to 7pm on October 28 and November 4. Additionally, College Night is on Monday, October 31: college students with a valid student ID from a community college or a four year university get free admission.
Regular Ticket Prices
- Adult Admission (ages 11+): $10 on Weekdays (Monday-Thursday) and $12 on Weekends (Friday-Sunday)
- Child Admission (ages 5-10) : $5 on Weekdays and $6 on Weekends
- Wristbands for Unlimited Rides: $30 on Weekdays and $35 on Weekends
- Midway Access Pass (a.k.a. “Fast Pass” or “Skip-the-Line”): $15
Before you head to the fair, you should know that a new clear bag policy is being implemented this year. The policies are about the same as the ones for the Hancock Whitney Stadium, so keep that in mind!
