South Alabama football’s Jamarius Way has been invented to the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis on Feb. 26.
Way, who played wide receiver for the Jags, is the fourth South Alabama player to be invited to the combine. At the Combine, Way will receive a chance to perform drills in front of NFL scouts, in the hope of increasing his chances of being drafted in the 2019 NFL draft.
Of the four players who have made the trip, only former tight-end Gerald Everett was selected in the NFL draft. Everett who transferred to South from UAB was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft.
Across his career at South Alabama Way recorded 11 touchdown receptions 1,617 receiving yards and five games with 100 or more receiving yards.
Way is ranked as the No. 24 wide receiver prospecting in the upcoming NFL Draft and is seen as having the potential to be drafted in the first four rounds, per walterfootball.com
Joining Way in representing the Sun Belt Conference will be players from Troy University, Texas State and Appalachian State.
